A few summers ago, we put together an expedition to search for the "Lake Pepin Monster" as part of a documentary film project – and to hopefully collect on a $50,000 reward that’s been offered for “proof” of its existence. We had a film crew, underwater camera, sonar and even a scuba diver! Things got weird this past November when we were contacted by the Discovery Channel to participate in an episode of their “Monsters and Mysteries in America” series featuring said monster. Director Heidi Freier and expedition scuba diver Cory Breault were interviewed for the episode and Discovery licensed some of the footage we had shot. Best of all, they said they'd be filming a “re-enactment” of our expedition for their show!
How much of this made it into the final episode is still a mystery, but we'll find out when it premieres this Friday night! (March 14th). The show airs at 9:00pm (CST) on the Destination America channel. Hope you'll watch it with us - or set your DVR!
